Every team receives a score for how well they have done over the history of their franchise. Good teams will have a score of 1.00 or higher. Here is how that score is determined.

For any given season we need to determine how many milestones there are on the way to a championship. For example, in the 2026 MLB season, there are six milestones.

• Win/Loss Record
• Making the Wild Card
• Making Division Series
• Making League Series
• Winning League Championship
• Winning World Series Championship

In the 1960 MLB season, there were only three milestones.

• Win/Loss Record
• Winning League Championship
• Winning World Series Championship

Once you have the total number of milestones a team tried to achieve, you need to determine how many points they earned. Points are calculated by taking how many teams competed for that milestone and dividing it by how many teams achieved it.

For example, the L.A. Dodgers earned 60.10 points in 2025. This is calculated by the following:

• 93 Wins / 69 Losses = 1.35 Points
• NL Wild Card had 15 teams compete and 6 make it (15/6) = 2.50 Points
• NL Division Series had 15 teams compete and 4 make it (15/4) = 3.75 Points
• NL League Series had 15 teams compete and 2 make it (15/2) = 7.50 Points
• Winning the NL had 15 teams compete and 1 win it (15/1) = 15 Points
• Winning the World Series had 30 teams compete and 1 win it (30/1) = 30 Points

To calculate the team's overall score you take all the points they earned in their entire history and divide it by all the milestones in which they competed.
